Celebrating Trees with Juice, Jam and Cakes!
This month's learning has been all about the trees! In order to learn about the trees during this barren winter season, our teachers have found creative ways to explore all that they give us. We've printed photos of trees and their fruits to play matching games; made observational drawings; made tree art from loose parts found in our Art Studio; and more. During our walks around the school grounds we explored tree roots sticking up from the earth and touched different kinds of tree bark. We painted with branches and planted parsley. Some classes made birthday cakes to celebrate the trees. And, some even used fruits to make juice and jam! On Tu B'Shevat, each class had a Seder to bless and taste all kinds of different fruits. From date and figs, to pomelos and pomegranates, we tried them all!
